You can use two recording modes for different scenarios. BY-M1 has a 4-pole TRRS output connector that connects to both your camcorder or camera. It also allows you to connect to your phone or computer when it is in “camera” mode. All Accessories Included A LR44 (included), 5.0V battery powers the lavalier microphone. The switch allows you to toggle between turning off and on the battery. The microphone can be used with a smartphone by turning the switch off. This is because the phone supplies the power. Turn the switch on to charge the battery. Also included are a 1/4" adapter and foam windscreen. A Lav microphone is a mic that can be clipped to the top of your body, either inside or outside, and then plugged into an audio device. They are often used by news journalists and YouTubers while at exhibitions, etc. Everything comes in a black tie bag. This is great for protecting everything and minimizing cable tangles. We now have six meters of cable. One end has the microphone and the other the 3.5mm connector. The controls are a tiny device powered by a small LR44 LR44 battery. They allow you to switch between off/smartphones and cameras (cameras need a powered microphone), and can also be used to adjust the 0dB and -10dB levels. Distance between the control jack and controls is approximately 4.5m. The controls for the microphone are 1.5m. You can easily attach the controls to your pants with the clip provided. A 3.5mm port is available for audio monitoring and playback. This would make it ideal to use when you are shooting press events, etc. A clip is not included with the microphone. This allows you to attach the microphone to your chest like the movie “Undercover”. A clip, which can be attached to the microphone, allows you to attach it onto your top. If you wish to reduce external sound, there is a foam windscreen available. It is extremely lightweight and can be easily clipped to your clothing. The cable is also great. It was easy to set up. I simply connected it to my mirrorless camera and turned the dial up for DSLR. This worked without any additional settings on my camera.
